Collection: Ye Xuan Hew
Ye Xuan Hew, a Malaysian artist and student at University of Arts London Camberwell, grew up dreaming of snowy landscapes. Her first encounter with snow came during family ski trips to Japan, where the gentle Mt. Yotei, with its crisp air and quaint wooden cottages, sparked a sense of joy—even if its charm differed from the jagged peaks of the Himalayas and Alps she long admired.
Now, working primarily in oil paints, Ye Xuan captures mountain majesty through intimate, close-up views that deliberately exclude human presence. Her layered technique, much like the slow process of geological formation, deepened after a transformative visit to the Alps. Through her work, she shares the awe-inspiring calm and sublime beauty of untouched nature, while her art continues to fuel her passion for further mountain explorations.
