Collection: Ngai Ning Yu

Born in Hong Kong in 2003, Ngai Ning Yu is an emerging artist and a UAL Camberwell Fine Art recent graduate dedicated to exploring the concept of 'home' as an emotional and remembered space. Her artistic process involves translating photos and memories of human-inhabited environments onto canvas, where she interrogates the nuanced contrast of presence and absence, striving to capture the inherent impermanence of our experiences. A signature element of her work is the masterful use of light and shadow, which she views as both fleeting and timeless. These paradoxical elements are crucial in embodying the liminality of interiors and reflecting on the artist's own sense of nostalgia.

Ngai Ning aims for her paintings to resonate as archetypes of familiar spaces, encouraging viewers to find fragments of their own past within her suspended moments. This universal appeal allows her art to become a shared journey into the nature of memory, belonging, and what remains when a place is gone. Ngai Ning has significantly contributed to the art scene in both London and Hong Kong, showcasing her work at prestigious venues including the Affordable Art Fair UK (2024), The Other Art Fair (2025), and as a finalist for the Sovereign Art Foundation Student Prize.
